While addressing to media after a one-on-one meeting with President Zardari at presidency on Wednesday, the nominated prime minister said that the meeting held in good environment, adding, forgetting the grievances of past, they want to move forward.

PML-N chief said everyone have to work together to resolve problems being faced by the country and country’s interests should be preferred over personal interests.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, who sustained head and back injuries after falling from a lifter during an electoral rally in Lahore on May 7, was discharged from Shaukat Khanum Hospital early on Wednesday.

However, he will continue to receive regular physiotherapy and is expected to wear the spinal support for a few weeks.

The cricketer-turned-politician is recovering speedily and yesterday walked unaided for more than 300m, said Khawaja Nazir, the spokesman for Lahore’s Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital, adding he would have to use the brace worn around his back for up to six weeks.

Imran Khan’s party emerged as the third strongest political force in the May 11 general elections, wherein Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) scripted a historical win.

All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), the party of former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf will conditionally support Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf-led coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Ghulam Mohammad, the only MPA of APML, on Monday told media that the former president Musharraf had directed him to favour Imran Khan’s party in the KPK Assembly.

Ghulam Mohammad had won election from PK-90 (Chitral-II) constituency by securing 10,691 votes.

Meanwhile, Shahzda Iftikharuddin, the only APML MNA, is also likely to join PTI following a meeting with Pervez Musharraf. Iftikharuddin had clinched NA-32 seat from Chitral by securing 19,938 votes against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Abdul Latif, who obtained 16636 votes.

Ghulam Mohammad and Iftikharuddin and another candidate from Chitral Shahzada Pervez, who narrowly lost to PPP candidate in PK-89 constituency, had contested May 11 elections despite of party’s boycott.

APML had boycotted the elections as a sign of protest against the rejection of nomination papers of former military ruler.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said that Taliban’s offer to start a dialogue process should be taken seriously to ensure peace in the region.

“Economy thrives in peace, not war, especially on terrorism. We must sit on the table to negotiate peace and end the state of war”, he said while addressing to a convention of the recently-elected PML-N’s candidates here at Alhamra Hall.

“All options should be tried, and guns are not a solution to all problems,” he said.

Nawaz, who is set to be the prime minister of Pakistan for third time, said culture of overturning governments through demonstration on the streets should come to an end.

PML-N chief said all parties should all accept each others’ mandate open-heartedly. He said his party was in position to form government by making alliance with other parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but they not attempted so and given the chance to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

Nawaz Sharif said they neither did any negative propaganda during electoral campaign nor they abused anyone.

He said the people of Sindh have given the mandate to Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and they have the right to form government there, adding the federal government will fully cooperate with them.

“If the people of Sindh have reposed their mandate in PPP and MQM then they must deliver. The centre will do all that it can to help the PPP and MQM to improve law and order situation in Karachi.”

Nawaz Sharif said PML-N’s candidates won with massive margin in Lahore but lost one seat in metropolis, it will be probed that why it happened. He said those who voted for PML-N and those who not did so will be served equally.

The former prime minister said he had always followed the law and constitution without breaching the either.

Nawaz Sharif said the country is facing a string of challenges, which are needed to be overcome.

Former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has once again declined the offer to get the safe passage, saying he won’t leave the country without proving his innocence.

The attempts to persuade him to leave country have been accelerated with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), who storm to historical victory in the May 11 general polls, waiting in wings to take the charge of government.

However, the former military ruler, who is at currently detained at his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad, declined the offer saying the death is acceptable to him but he won’t leave the country without proving him innocent.

Ending his four-and-half year self-imposed exile, Pervez Musharraf had returned to country in March to partake in the general elections but Peshawar High Court placed a lifetime ban on him for contesting elections, citing the former military ruler breached the constitution twice and confined the judges in their homes.

In a surprising move, Advocate Chaudhry Aslam Ghumman, a lawyer who had filed a petition in judges’ confinement case, on Saturday withdrew his complaint against the former president.
