Skyrocketing heating bills are everybody’s problem during winter times. This can alone destroy your monthly budget if not taken care of properly. Here are some tips where you can save money on your heating bill.
– Turn the thermostat down by 10 degrees while you’re at work and when you’re in bed. This can save you 14% on your heating bill.
– Save up to 25% on your heating bill by purchasing some thermal curtains. These curtains have an extra thick padding to stop the cold air coming in and the warm air leaving.
– Buy some draft excluders to prevent cold air from coming into the room, or warm air leaving.
– Purchase a chimney balloon. This will stop the cold air outside from coming down your chimney.
– Purchase a water-efficient shower head. These can use up to 50% less water, which will be a huge saving on your heating bill.
– Having a well-insulated home will also save on your heating bill.
– You will save a lot of money by detecting any problems with your boiler early. Therefore, it is recommended to have your boiler serviced annually.
– Don’t put your sofa in the front of the radiator – this will stop the heat from circulating around the room.
– Are you getting the best deal from your oil supplier? It may be worth changing supplier. Shop around and see what prices other heating oil suppliers are offering.
– A lot of the heat a radiator produces is lost through the wall. Put some tin foil behind your radiator to reflect heat back into the room and save money. Wickes sell foil especially for this purpose.
