Mullah Nazir killed in US drone attack
He was killed when two missiles hit a house in Angoor Adda, on the outskirts of capital Wana, South Waziristan, near the Afghan border.
The local Taliban and intelligence sources have confirmed the killing of Mullah Nazir, who also served as the head of Aman Committee. His deputy, Ratta Khan, was also killed in the strike.
Mullah Nazir was critically injured in a suicide attack in November when a suicide bomber blew himself up near his convey in South Waziristan’s largest town Wana. The attack was believed to have carried out by rival Taliban.
For not having any specific agenda against Pakistani government, state and army, Mullah Nazir was considered as a ‘good Taliban’ by the Pakistani military and intelligence establishment.
Mullah Nazir’s funeral was observed in Azam Warsak area, approximately ten kms from Wana.
