Imran Farooq aspired for indpendent political career
London metropolitan police has revealed that Dr. Imran Farooq aspired to have an independent political profile. Detectives believe that this high profile murder has some connection with politics in Pakistan. Police has issued a fresh appeal for conclusive evidence in this case. Imran Farooq was killed outside his doorstep on September 16, 2010.
The post-mortem report suggested that Imran Farooq died because of multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head. Killers used kitchen knife with a 5.5 inch blade and a brick as murder weapon. Both the weapons were recovered from crime scene. Nobody witnessed the crime. Detectives believe that this is very well planned and organized crime. Killers were aware of all his routines and they executed the operation very carefully without leaving any clue.
Dr Imran Farooq was a prominent figure in Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and was among founding members of the party. During recent times he was not very active politically. News were doing rounds about his differences with party leadership especially MQM leader Altaf Hussein.
Imran Farooq murder: Still a Mystery
London Metropolitan police has a very good success rate in solving murder cases. However Imran Farooq case is still a mystery for them. Detectives at Metropolitan Police do not possess enough evidence to take the investigations to next level. Earlier it was reported that two persons have been arrested in Pakistan in connection with Imran Farooq murder. News was later refuted by Police department.
Now Metropolitan police issued a fresh appeal seeking information. They have also announced a reward of £20,000 for the informer leading to the identification, detention, and trial of killers.
Police statement said that they remain committed to trace those responsible for the murder of Dr Imran Farooq. Police is seeking help regarding

- His routines.
- Information about buyer of similar knives.
- If any suspect was dropped to green lane area in those days.
- Any suspects leaving the scene.
Police has ensured complete security and privacy to the informer.
