Malik Ishaq released on bail
Malik Ishaq, leader of banned sectarian outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi has been released from jail. Firebrand speaker was taken into custody on charges of inciting sectarian violence. Court granted him bail today.
“The court has accepted his bail application and later he was freed from jail,” his lawyer said.
Malik Ishaq is facing numerous murder cases in different courts of the country. He is also accused of conceiving idea of attacking Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore in 2009. In that particular attack seven players were wounded and eight Pakistanis lost their lives.
Attack on Sri Lankan team closed doors of International cricket for Pakistan. No team has visited Pakistan since then.
Malik Ishaq was arrested after he arrived from Saudi Arab after performing Umrah.
