11 year old boy made mockery of Britain’s stringent Airport security claims
B3KAY3UNG35S.An 11 year old boy made mockery of Britain’s stringent Airport security claims ahead of Olympics as he passed through at least five check posts and boarded a Spain bound flight uninterrupted. As this was not enough, cabin crew also failed to identify an extra passenger boarded due to their flawed headcount in which they failed to ensure that boarding passes and number of passengers on board is matching up.
Runaway child Liam Corcoran was only noticed when passengers became apprehensive about him and notified cabin crew.
According to the details a runaway child Liam Corcoran detached from his from his mother at a shopping mall at Wythenshawe Civic Centre and reached Manchester airport.
Liam Corcoran went straight to one of the boarding gates and managed to get past security checkpoint without presenting passport or a boarding card to board Rome bound LS791 Jet2 flight.
The captain was informed and radioed back to Manchester, where police informed the boy’s mother he was safe and well but on a plane heading to Italy.
Her mother only came to know about his son when pilot informed control tower at Manchester Airport.
The incident has prompted officials to launch an urgent inquiry into the matter.
“This extremely serious matter is now being urgently investigated by officials from the airport and airline. It is clear that documentation has not been checked correctly at security and the boarding gate,” Manchester Airport spokesman said.
The recent incident will definitely add to the worries about fool proof security at Olympics village. Earlier it was reported that at least six suspicious persons have managed to enter Britain due to inexperienced and negligent staff at British Airports.
